It was determined that 55 percent of these people with an average age of 57.8 experienced at least one psychopathological disorder.

Anxiety Disorder, Insomnia, Depression

One month after hospital treatment, 42 percent of Kovid-19 patients showed symptoms of anxiety disorder, 40 percent insomnia, 31 percent depression, 28 percent post-traumatic stress disorder, and 20 percent obsessive compulsive disorder. These symptoms were higher in Kovid-19 patients who had previous psychiatric disorders.

In addition to the psychiatric history of the patients, the time spent in hospital for Kovid-19 treatment was also effective on the results. Symptoms of psychopathological disorder were higher in women than in men.

PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS CONNECTED WITH IMMUNE SYSTEM

Researchers noted that these psychological effects may also be linked to the immune system’s response to the virus. A call was made to investigate the connection of diseases with inflammatory disorder and psychiatric disorders in more detail.

On the other hand, it was stated that stress factors such as social isolation, the psychological effect of developing a potentially fatal disease, anxiety to infect others and fear of stigmatization may also cause these psychiatric disorders.
