Azure waters, warm sands and the world’s greatest

While it is the land of people who live their lives by removing pearls from the deep waters of the bay, the Arabian Peninsula country, which has been revived by oil, is the United Arab Emirates. Don’t be fooled by being small, it’s a small but very rich country. It consists of 7 emirates. The emirate, the capital Abu Dhabi… But Dubai, which is the center of the most modern and touristic, financial world and giant international companies…

You get a visa when entering the United Arab Emirates, but you do not have to go to the consulate. Visa is obtained online, and Emirates Airlines can organize the visa for you. Although the official language is Arabic, there is no one who does not speak English. You hardly hear any Arabic during your trip. Even the signs are bilingual. Everyone living in Dubai is mostly ‘expat’, that is, a migrant working in a foreign country. Shop assistants, employees, waiters are Pakistani, Indian or Filipino. So cheap labor. Those who send their winnings to their countries and families. These are the first group ‘expats’.

There is another group that are those who eat the skimming of Dubai. . . American, European high status, high-wages, white-collar people who live their days in their servant villas or in luxury plazas … There are also citizens of the United Arab Emirates. They are ‘Emirati’. Whether you have lived here for years or even got married here, it’s something you can’t be. Because the concept of citizenship is under serious protection… All companies have to run ‘Emirati’, whether they come to work or not …
Let me speak a little bit now. Covered with desert dunes in 1991, Dubai has become the present in just 30 years… When I first went after the change, I was biased. After all, I thought there was no history, a tall building and a shopping mall paradise. For this reason, it was an artificial city that was not worth visiting. But the new Dubai makes us think that we have a lot to learn about urbanism and make people wear hats!

The world’s top

Let me tell you about the places I said “You should see” in Dubai briefly, and then there are the sections “You must eat” and “You have fun”.
The most luxurious: 7-star ultra-luxury hotel in the shape of a sail called Burj Al Arab, I guess nobody knows anymore. The first building that comes to mind when it comes to Dubai was completed in 1999. The building, which has the title of the tallest building in the world at the time of its construction, is considered the symbol of the country such as France’s Eiffel Tower or Britain’s Big Ben Clock Tower. Built on an artificial island 321 meters above the ground, the hotel is connected to the mainland by a private suspension road.

Highest: The construction of the building, which began in 2004, in the shape of a desert flower, was completed in 2010. In this process, 12 thousand workers and hundreds of engineers from 100 different nationalities worked 22 million hours. The first name of the building, which was built by spending 1.5 billion dollars, was ‘Burj Dubai’. But in 2009, the name was changed to ‘Burj Al Khalifa’ to honor Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who prevented Dubai from entering the financial crisis by transferring $ 10 billion of funds from his wealth to the treasury. With its height of 828 meters, it still holds the record for the tallest building in the world.

Largest: Jebel Ali Port, the world’s largest man-made port, is in Dubai Marina. The marina is home to skyscrapers, hotels, entertainment venues, open air markets, as well as yachts of the world’s richest. Most visited: Deira is one of Dubai’s traditional central districts. Dubai Mall is the largest shopping mall in the world. Besides its size, it is famous for its huge aquarium and magnificent illuminated water shows. This is the most visited shopping and entertainment center in the world.

The most famous: Satwa, densely populated by Filipinos and Indians, Dubai’s little India and little Manila. It is also the center of gold and textile. The world famous Gold Souk (Gold Souk) is also located here.

Where to stay?

Dubai promises comfort besides fine flavors like an oasis in the middle of the desert. There are many hotels, each designed to offer you a pleasant environment and service with different features. Bulgari Hotel & Resort, Waldorf Astoria The Palm, Anantara The Palm, Atlantis, Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Four Seasons Hotel Jumeirah, Rixos JBR, One & Only Hotel Palm, Habtoor Palace and Armani Hotel are the best options I can recommend to you.

Where to eat?

Finally, I would like to share with you the 10 best restaurants in Dubai, where you can taste the finest dishes from the world cuisine. Shanghai Me, Gaia, Babiole, Oppa, Scalini, Cipriani, Roberto’s, Nammos, Andreea’s, Salmontini and Karam are definitely my favorites.
