Important Movies in the First Week of September


“Mulan”, a live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1998 production classic animated movie, is a candidate to attract adventure and action enthusiasts to movie theaters.

Directed by Niki Caro, the film stars Yifei Liu, Jet Li, Jason Scott Lee, Donnie Yen and Li Gong.

The production, which will take place on the big screen in 3D, tells the story of a young Chinese woman disguised as a man and fighting for the Imperial Army instead of her sick father and becoming one of the bravest heroes of China in this process.

Book of Secrets

The thriller “Book of Secrets”, starring Bond girl Olga Kurylenko, the sought-after star of action movies, Lambert Wilson, known as the villain of the Matrix series, and Alex Lawther, who shines in Netflix’s popular series, will meet with the audience.

The Belgian and French co-produced film directed by Regis Roinsard; It is about the tense events that developed when translators from nine different countries, who were called to a house to have the third book of the best-selling novel series “Dedalus” translated, were under suspicion after the first 10 pages of the book were leaked to the internet.

Escape from Pretoria

Francis Annan directed “Escape from Pretoria” starring Daniel Radcliffe, Lan Hart, Daniel Webber, Nathan Page and Stephen Hunter.

Adapted from Tim Jenkin’s 2003 book, Inside Out: Escape from Pretoria Prison, Escape from Pretoria focuses on the arrest and escape of Jenkin, who was prosecuted for producing and distributing advertisements in the 1970s on behalf of banned organizations.

The thriller-heavy film tells the story of his fellow prisoners Alex Moumbaris and Stephen Lee and the team trying to escape from Pretoria, one of the prisons known for its high security, after being sentenced to 12 years.


Directed by Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz, “Antebellum” is about Veronica Henley, a successful writer and a beautiful family life, after she was kidnapped on her way home one night.

The US film stars Janelle Monae, Jena Malone, Jack Huston, Kiersey Clemons and Gabourey Sidibe.


Ruken Tekeş’s documentary “Aether” is about the director’s 21-day visit to Hasankeyf, which will soon be flooded by a hydroelectric dam.
